Today is/was the last day of our time in Buenos Aires, it started off at a relaxed time and was in general, a very relaxed day. We started the day as normal with breakfast in Gioia the hotel's restaurant before going upstairs and relaxing and then heading out to the Recoleta Mall in, you guessed it, Recoleta.
Despite there not being many "big brands" in the mall it was a nice, short walk to stretch the legs and, we got a great view of the cemetery from the mall.
After walking through the mall we went outside to a restaurant which served pizzas and empanadas where we had lunch and a nice break.
Once we'd chilled out for a while we went round the corner to the park where a market was set up and then on in to Cementerio de la Recoleta which was a nice, cool (temperature and atmosphere wise) , calm place to wander around looking at all the impressive mausoleums once more.
We then made our way back to the Palacio Duhau for the rest of the afternoon where we chilled out and enjoyed our last full day here in Buenos Aires. Sadly our Teatro Colon plans fell through, it was a "book on the day" type system and even by the morning during breakfast all the English tours had been booked out. After chilling out at the hotel for the afternoon we headed out to dinner at an amazing restaurant called Aranbur, a modern, small-portion, high quality style restaurant which served incredible and interesting style small dishes. Here are some of the highlights.

These were various types of super thin crackers and rice cakes put into a sea shell.
These were followed by a medley of beetroot cannelloni, chicken pate, dried deer meat on crackers and whipped blue cheese on figs. They were served on slabs of marble and polished wood.
Then came a hot bread roll on warm hay with smoked butter.
This was grapes, tomatoes, herbs and strawberry sauce with a whipped blue cheese mayonnaise.
time for the mains - fish with kale and lemon sauce.
This was pork with tangerine sorbet (delicious)

Fascinated by that restaurant - your tastebuds must have been tingling with all those "teaser plates" Glad to see figs on the menu again.
