Today we woke up at quarter to five for a game drive from 6.30am until 10.30am and then another at 3.30pm until 6.30pm. I had seen the leopard, and lion of the Big 5 yesterday, elephant, buffalo and rhino were still to come. Here is what we saw with labels above.
wildebeest galore - a breakfast buffet for their predators
Elephants and their babies
And a not so happy Wildebeest
Hippo - who looked like he'd been to Hawaii wearing a lai
Buffalo
Hyena waiting for the lion's leftovers
That was my day it was really interesting, I wish I could do it all again.. oh wait I can! More to come on Day 3

MMMMMMM More breakfast
Hyena waiting for the lion's leftovers
This is what we saw in the second game drive of the day.
Cheetah
Black Belly Bastard
Baby Jackal who had made a termite mound home.
Then we came across 3 sleeping brothers, mmeeooww!
Further down the river were baby lion cubs playing around while their mum was also trying to sleep.
Just before we finished the day, we came across a whole pride of lions of all shapes and sizes.
And while we were watching the lion pride we heard on the radio that a rhino had been spotted. There are only 44 left in the Mara and this one is as old as my parents.
Big 5 completed - tick
The sun was going down and the rain was coming. It rains hard in the Mara so we had to cover the truck and put our bags up in case the rivers we crossed flowed into the truck.

Joseph we are amazed at the numbers of animals you have seen - not only the different species but the numbers in each species traveling together. Your photos are brilliant. Wonder if its cold in the early morning when you were getting up at 4.45?
