Last day in Barcelona

After breakfast we went to the Rambla and saw some amazing human statues. I thought that the third one down was the scariest, because of its costume and it actually moved. The only one that you really can see me in is the first one down.

While we were still at the Rambla dad was lucky enough to get some photos of the con artists more likely to known as scammers. The reason I say lucky is because we saw another guy try to get photos but his crew wouldn't allow it, they also tried to take the camera off the guy.

Bellow this sentence is a picture that me and dad weren't really supposed to take. It's a picture of a spotter not a person looking for people with cameras, his job is to look out for police and tell the others when they arrive and it's time to move.  After lunch we saw all of them hiding down a side street. Sure enough when we got to the Rambla there were Policemen walking down the street.  The Spotter had let them know so they could hide.

Then after a while we went to the pool, not just any ordinary pool but the olympic pool that the olympic  divers used when the olympics came to Barcelona.  It was pretty close to the stadium, which we saw because our taxi driver got lost.   It had two pools, one was closed off which had the diving boards, and the other was one that was just open that the people like us could go in. Here's some photos of them.

It also had a great view of the sagrada familia which I told you about yesterday.

After that we took the train home, had dinner and will soon go to sleep.

My next post will be from PRA-GOOEY.    CIAO!

Day three in Barcelona! Montserrat

When we woke up this morning we headed out to breakfast. We stooped in at a cafe and we all had English breakfasts,(which is nothing short of good old bacon and eggs). Soon afterwards we went to the metro station and got our tickets to go to Montserrat. Then we had to take another train to the cable car. When we got there we went to the yellow cable car which would take us up to a little town high in the Mountains which is Montserrat. The people that live here are Monks and are studying the bible and Jesus. We thought that they were there to study in peace and Quiet. We realised that there were so many people there that that couldn't of been the reason, so maybe they just want to be up high to be closer to the king of kings.

We took a yellow cable car up to the mountain edge and went and saw the church.  I didn't see any monks but I did see a statue of saint Joseph

Day two in Barcelona!

When we woke up we had breakfast. We went to the market which is around the corner from us.  It had lots of stalls for meat and fish like in Venice.  But it also had nuts and spices and my favourites were the fruit and lolly stalls.

They had juice drinks of different mixes and iceblocks made of juices.  Bowls of different fruits.  There was so much to choose.
Mum and I both chose fruit cocktails.

Then we went out by underground metro to the Sagrada Famelia, which is famous for being an unfinished church for one hundred years. The builders were still working on it when we got there.  I can understand why it's taking so long to build.  They keep on changing their minds about how to decorate it.  They have statues of Jesus and Mary, they have a spire that looks like a christmas tree with white doves on it, some of the columns have fruit and vegetables on top of them like oranges, lemons, corn cobs and the really tall ones have flowers on them.  Someone needs to take charge I think.  That was on the outside.

I'm not sure what is inside because there was a big line so we couldn't go in.  It stretched around more than two blocks.  The good news is now I had time to get a new barcelona soccer shirt and shorts.

We walked back down the Rambla.  I saw the same guys trying to trick people into playing a game with them and hand over their money.  We watched for a while.  We saw the lookout guys who were watching out for the police.  We saw the men who were pretending to be tourists playing the game.  But I knew they weren't because they were the same men I saw yesterday.  Then the policemen came and everyone ran away.

For tea we went down to the Port where the Olympics used to be.  We had dinner at a really fancy restaurant where everything on the menu had been swimming in the water in the morning.

Dad went to the casino so Mum and I walked back to our apartment along the waterfront.  We stopped to talk to an artist on the Rambla and I picked 3 paintings of places I have been to in Barcelona to put in my bedroom which Mum bought for me.  Tomorrow we are going to Montserrat.  I am not sure exactly what that is though.

Barcelona Day 1

A final plank in Rome
In the morning we had to get up at 6:AM, then we had to check out and drag our bags to the water Taxi.
When we got there we had to get in the boat, the sit down, I personally thought it was like a limousine on water.

Whenever a boat drove past us we got shaken from the waves it didn't really matter weather it was smaller or bigger. Here's a photo of me in front of what I like to call the airport Island!
When we got there we had to check-in, then go through boarder security. Since we got up so early we had to get breakfast at the airport. Mum had a chocolate muffin, I had a Buffalo mozzarella  and tomato toasted sandwich, and Dad had toast. When we got on the plane we had to go to row 8. The plane ride took an hour to get to Spain.  It was just a flight across the sea really.

when we landed we had to go to our Apartment, when we got there we had to wait for a girl to come and open the door for us and show us our Apartment. Soon after we went for lunch.  In Barcelona they have lunch at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.  All the shops shut until 4.30pm so everyone can go to sleep after lunch(that was called a siesta). When we woke up at about 6 we headed out to dinner.  Dinner is at 8 o'clock at night.  That's my bedtime back home! we had tapas for tea in a big square with palm trees in it.  It had lots of outdoor cafes and we could sit and watch the street performers.  Tapas is just lots of different small plates of food that you pick what you want.

After dinner we went to a fountain called the magic dancing fountain, if you remember the one in Las Vegas I think they tried to copy this one in Barcelona. It starts at nine and then goes on until 11,(thats why we had our siesta) they have two different types of music the fountain dances to rock and ophra. Here are some photos of the night.

Soon after we headed back to our apartment and went to sleep.

Day three in Venice

In the morning we went down to the Rialto bridge, and looked for a Gondola  we eventually found one and by eventually I mean we got the first or second one. After we were in the old but not torn down city of Venice I asked if I could get up with the gondolier driver and he said "Yes". I thought it was funny seeing all the people taking videos and pictures of me. There was another thing that I thought was pretty funny that was when there was a bridge that was so low that even I had to duck!

e

Today we walked past a mask shop near our hotel,(Venice is the best place to get a mask in probably the world)it took me so long to pick a mask but finaly I picked. I was looking for one with little music notes on it but I had to pick the closest one near to it.

After all that happened we headed out to lunch, we sat over the water that you should never drink here, that is the sea water we shared a Pizza. Soon after we headed over to an Island called Murano, when we got there we headed straight for the glass factory.

Whilst there we watched a very talented person make a glass horse, he also made a glass vase and after a while it smashed because it didn't cool down warmly.

After that I had some gelati and caught the boat home, and now I'm doing this.

Second day in venice

This morning we woke up and went to breakfast (which wasn't the best), then we went to see a guy called Mike, he was the husband of the lady which was giving us a tour of Venice she was called Karen. I would recommend her  if you ever come to Venice. She was great she even told us how to take short cuts through the line. She even took us through the fish Market while we were there the fighter jets flew over us with coloured smoke to make the Italian flag.

We walked around the backstreets of Venice and she told me what it was really like to live here.  She showed us that there were these things in most corners that were called pee stoppers!  So if you tried to pee in the corner it would just run down onto your new shoes.  Good to know anyway?

The people that live in Venice have there own rubbish system, they have to drop there bag full of rubbish down onto the sidewalk (some of them lower their bags down with rope), then a person comes to collect it and then he takes it to the garbage barge and then sails off with it.

While we were walking around we saw a funeral. The coffin came on a funeral boat.  Since under the ground is just marsh they had to put their houses on underwater stilts. Karen said people decided to build here because someone was chasing them and trying to kill them.  The bad guys had horses but the people had boats because they were fisherman so this is where they hid.  And the horses couldn't get there.

To get to your house you have to take your boat to the front door or cross a bridge to get to it.

We were walking through we discovered this narrow alley here's a photo of me in it.

We also had a sneak peak inside a shop where a man was making paper mache masks.  There are heaps of them here.

Did you know that kids only go to school from 8.30 in the morning till 1 o'clock.  Lucky them.

                                        GOODBYE! CIAO!

The sinking city Venice! Day one

First of all, I want everyone who's watching this to go on Youtube, then search up "beached as bro" and then pick the forth one down, me and some other people have already seen it and think it is quite funny.

Yesterday we flew from Rome to Venice(we are still in Italy). To get from the airport to our hotel we had to take a waterbus...yes you read it right, a bus that goes on the water.  Actually it's a boat with lots of seats.  That's because Venice roads are all made of water.  Even the motorway is water.  When we finally got to our 'bus stop' in Venice we had to find our hotel.  Unfortunately that was not so easy. Venice is like a maze and we couldn't find our street even though we had a map.  Dad asked some policemen but one pointed one way and the other pointed exactly the opposite other way.  Eventually we found it by ourselves.  My room is on the very top floor which is the third floor.

We went out for a walk but didn't get lost again, thank god.  We went into some wood work shops, and then moved on to the Rialto Bridge which is a bridge that crosses over the main canal.  It's like the main street of venice where all the boats and gondolas are.  Here are some pictures of what I am talking about.

More to come..
