Las Vegas Day 3

Yesterday for breakfast we returned to the hotel's main restaurant where I had chicken and waffles, mum had avacado on toast and dad had eggs benedict. Outside in the sun, although it was only 9am or so in the morning, it was hot -already above 30 degrees so there was only one thing to do....go shopping in an airconditioned mall

Fried Chicken and Belgian Waffles for Breakfast
Our hotel on the way to Fashion Show Mall
Hotels on the strip and the walkway between hotels which sprayed mist to keep people cool while walking

Walkway in 40 degree heat
Once we had exhausted our shopping potential it was back to the pool.  On our way back the taxi driver told us it was 122 degrees (that's 50 degrees in kiwi language). Crazy!!  Pina Coladas and mojitos would get us through
Wave pool and lazy river at the Mandalay Bay beach club
Our Four Seasons pool.  We had to go in every 20 minutes to cool down then would dry off before it was so hot we had to go in again to cool off.
Dinner at Carmines
Later that night we went on a helicopter night flight over Vegas.  There was lightning in the distance and it was quite windy.  The helicopters actually taxied down its own runway and flew off 5 or 6 at a time for the cruise around the strip.  IT was a great way to see the lights and ended up not being a bumpy ride at all.

After this, Dad went to casino and had a very successful evening while Mum and I ordered room service dessert and watched Hillary Clinton become the very first woman to be a party nominee for President of the United States.  We also saw a very short but powerful speech by a muslim father who lost his soldier son in the war.  I am looking forward to the 3 debates between Hillary and the Don in the next few months.  But next, it's time to head home

Goodbye Vegas
