Fourth Day of Dubai

Today we went to Dolphin Bay, a Dolphin encounter centre where we meet a dolphin called Alice and we got to touch her very smooth skin(It's smooth because she gets a new layer of skin every two hours, mainly to keep her fast.). We also got a chance to either dance with Alice or play fetch with either a ball or a hoop, all three of us choose to dance because we thought it isn't everyday you get to dance with a Dolphin. They use a super sonic dog whistle to communicate yes, to her. Here are some photo's of our experiences.

Once we'd gotten back from Dolphin Bay we stayed at the hotel for a couple of hours before heading off to Dubai Mall where Dad and I went ice skating and to the electronics part of the mall and mum went looking for some clothes or shoes. There were all sorts of people at the mall.  People dressed like us, men in the white dress and headscarf (white for formal and red check for casual), and women in head scarfs or wearing black burqas with their whole face showing, or just their eyes showing or completely covered up.  The mall was huge and had every kind of shop you could ever imagine, Bigger than the ones that I have ever seen in America and London and new ones.  You needed a map to help you not get lost.  There was the worlds largest aquarium in the middle of it, on the top floor was a rollercoaster theme park, a Hamleys toy store, disney and virgin megastores.  It had an ice skating rink where Dad and I didn't fall over once!  We shopped until 10pm at night!  The shopping stalls in the middle of the mall and in the souk part would sometimes be burning incense so the mall smelt nice and every now and then the mall music would stop and there would be a call to prayer song that would come on.  That's when the people would go to the prayer rooms around the mall to pray.  It had the largest food court and lolly store I have ever seen.

In between shopping and exploring the mall we went up the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa which sits on top of the mall. The viewing deck was on floor 124 and took less than a minute to go up in the lift - you had to be careful to make sure your ears didn't pop.  outside it has a huge water fountain which lights up and dances to music every hour.  We had dinner at a waterfront restaurant so we could watch and have a break from shopping.  Here are some photos.

(Me very very TIRED)
